Empty Boxes

Is it odd that I keep a collection of empty Filofax boxes? As long as I still own the organizers that came in them, I can't seem to part with the boxes.

What if I decide to sell any of my Filofax organizers and regret that I discarded its box?

Or, I want to store some of my organizers and don't have the boxes to protect them?

Filofax discontinued using these boxes and now sell their organizers wrapped in a clear plastic cover. It is no where near the same.

Although the boxes take up quite a bit of space, I'm hanging onto them.

Market Bag

This is what I use to carry my planner when I don't want to take a purse along shopping. I attach a market-type bag to my key ring. I only need to unfold the bag from its holder if I've found something to purchase or if I need to protect my planner by hanging or laying it down inside of the bag. It's made of light-weight nylon and holds a ton of things. I use it mostly at farmers markets, Ikea, the library … any place I go empty handed and may leave with lots of loose bits.

Gnome Sweet Gnome

Welcome to Gnometown. I love the tan and red colors of these two Franklin Covey binders. They're so endearing.

They are from the "Her Point of View" (HPOV) line in compact size. The leather is soft and unstructured. The rings are 1.25 inches. The buckles and zipper pulls are bronze, but the rings are silver.

There was some confusion because there's another HPOV binder that Franklin Covey made which doesn't look anything like these ones.  Come to find out, mine were made in 2003 and the others (sorry, I don't have a picture) were made in 2007.  Strange they would share the same name. We were able to verify this by comparing the sales tag bar codes and the embossed numbers on the actual binders. Mystery solved!

Sushi a la Carte

This was my first time eating at a restaurant where food passes by your table on a conveyor belt. You just select which sushi a la carte you want as it passes by your table. Then you're charged per colored plate, from $1 to $5 each.

The reason my Gillio is in the picture is because I used this as my photo-a-day post on the Facebook page.

Piccadilly

I went thrifting and found this Filofax Slimline Piccadilly for 99 cents. First of all, we don't even have retail stores here where we can buy Filofax binders. Second, I've wanted to try a slimline size. And last, it was 99 cents! I can tell from the date on the tag that it was waiting there for me over two weeks. Seriously, people around here don't have a clue about Filofax or even 6-ringed binders. A very good visit to the Goodwill store.

Afternoon Tea

During my daughter's spring break, we indulged in afternoon tea at the Arizona Biltmore. We shared Ginger & Pear White Tea, as well as African Solstice Herbal Infusion. The tea sandwiches, pastries, and desserts were delicious.

After tea, we roamed the Biltmore grounds a bit and enjoyed the warm weather.

The Arizona Biltmore was built by the Wrigleys in 1929, its design inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, and was referred to as "The Jewel of the Desert."  Every US President since Herbert Hoover has stayed at the Biltmore. Also, Composer Irving Berlin wrote "White Christmas" while sitting at the pool.

Balmoral Family

These Balmorals may possibly be my favorite mini-collection. The A5, personal, and pocket all have full width compartments. The M2 is icing on the cake.

2 VR ⅞ ARRIVED !

This Filofax binder:

"2" refers to the number of pockets. They are clear plastic.

"VR" refers to vinyl ribbed. The cover is non-leather and textured.

"7/8" refers to the ring size (comparable to 23 mm). They are black.

Made in England.
