Seattle Japanese Garden

Filofax Enigma

These are the Filofax Enigma organizers in Brindle and Vermilion. I've had the brindle for quite some time and was recently able to add the vermilion red to complete this duo collection. The Enigma is one of those binders that you either love it or hate it.

Outside: The binders have an interesting snake print design and it appears that no two patterns are exactly the same.  The texture is smooth and cushiony, and the leather feels as though it has a protective coating. The branded 'f' can be found at the bottom of the spine and on the silver hardware of the clasp.

Interior: The Enigma lays completely flat upon opening. The covers are flexible rather than stiff which allows easy access to the pockets. On the inside left, there are six card slots, a vertical pocket, and vertical zipper pocket. On the inside right, there's a full length gusseted pocket with snap closure. The rings measure 23 mm.

The Enigma has a high-end feel and has earned a place in my collection. If I could only keep one? It would be the vermilion because of its striking colors. Luckily, I don't have to choose.

Note: This range is discontinued and no longer available. You may be able to find new old stock at retailers or buy them pre-owned as I did.

Meet Harry

For those who don't know "Harry," I would like to formally introduce him to you.

Harry is a medium Gillio Compagna in brown croco. I've never named any of my binders, but this one is special and was already named before I got him.

This lad has certainly traveled his fair share. Harry was crafted in Italy and sold in Belgium. I am the fourth owner now so he's also traveled to France, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He arrived at my doorstep on May 31, in time for me to take him along on my planned visit to Seattle and Victoria B.C.

Here's some photos of Harry's amazing leather, detail, and color. Let me just say this is the most stunning and handsome binder I've ever had. And, well, I have a lot.

Harry is fitting in nicely. Here's a photo of the binders that I consistently use. I call them my three bears.
